Welcome to St. Blaise, Missouri: Home of The Men and Women of St. Blaise Regional Medical Center

When the St. Blaise Regional Medical Center Board of Directors hired hometown girl, Beth Watkins, to jump start their public relations, they never imagined she’d be stripping their most prominent doctors, nurses, and support staff down to their birthday suits in order to beef up the hospital’s bank account.
Six men and six women were chosen to represent the best and brightest of this little town nestled in the heart of the Mark Twain National Forest. They also happened to be the hottest tickets in town. Soon the fundraising calendar is spiking temperatures throughout the Show Me state, and the men and women of St. Blaise are setting their small-town nights on fire.

February’s Fling

February

Having a tough enough time reestablishing her credibility in the wake of the calendar’s success, Sharon Malloy refuses to jeopardize her career for a fling with an inappropriate man. No matter how badly she aches to be flung.

The sexy Finance Administrator may be fresh off the world’s most amicable divorce, but she’d long passed the age of giving in to reckless impulses. The problem is, when Chad Holgren touches her, it doesn’t feel reckless. It just feels right.

Sharon’s determination to play it cool only fuels Chad’s fire. Determined to prove he has what it takes to make her happy, he puts her through her paces time and again, stretching the boundaries of their relationship and hanging on tight when Cupid’s arrow catches them both with their pants down.

Six sentences from February’s Fling: (warning – naked yoga ahead!)

“Prayer position,” he whispered in her ear. Taking hold of her wrists, he kept his gaze locked on the mirror as he guided her into the pose. When her palms touched, he covered her hands with his. “Look.”

Sharon slowly lifted her gaze to meet his in the mirror. His dick nestled into the crevice of her ass as he tipped his chin to the ceiling and arched back into a sun salutation.

Six sentences from February’s Fling:

“Breathe in,” he whispered.

The hard ridge of his erection wasn’t going to help her bike-short-wedgie situation. “I feel that.”

“Feel what?” he asked, not bothering to smother the chuckle in his voice.

“Are you just happy to see me?”

He pushed her t-shirt higher, slipping his fingertips under the wide band of her sports bra and whispered, “So happy.”

Jumping Mr. January

When she pitched the idea for The Men and Women of St. Blaise Regional Medical Center fundraising calendar to her Board of Directors, Beth Watkins thought she wrote the perfect prescription for the small town hospital’s budget shortfall.

The moment she got a green light, Beth went after the man she wanted to be her Mr. January and so much more. She had no time to waste. Hunky EMT Robert ‘Spence’ Spencer was leaving for medical school within weeks of the photo shoot she arranged and there was no way on earth Beth was going to miss the chance to sneak a peek at her old high school crush in all his glory.

Focused and dedicated, Spence wants bigger things than his hometown can offer, but when brainy, sexy Beth Watkins breezes back into St. Blaise with a plan that includes getting into his pants, he finds she is the one woman who can offer him something he doesn’t want to refuse.

Six sentences from Jumping Mr. January

“Say it.” The words tumbled from his lips, low and urgent. Spence refused to cringe. He wouldn’t be ashamed of the need fueling them. He’d handed his dreams over to her. The least she could do was give him the love he knew in his heart was already his.

“One track mind,” she admonished.

“I had the highest score in Gross Anatomy, and I owe it all to you.”

“Are you saying my anatomy is gross?”

“I’m saying I want to spend the foreseeable future studying your anatomy. You’re infinitely more interesting than those diagrams.”

Beth couldn’t hide her smile.

She gasped softly and the curtain of her lashes rose, unveiling eyes bright with delight. “I knew it.”

“There are sixty-three other women wishing they were here with you right now.”

Daring Miss December

Straight-laced hospital administrator Oliver Watkins has the heart of a rebel.

Coming of age in the free-wheeling seventies meant that Oliver’s rebellion manifested itself in always doing precisely what he was expected to do. He married his college sweetheart three days after graduation, passed out pink bubble gum cigars the day his daughter was born, and worked hard to provide his family the lifestyle they deserved.

Now, with his wife gone and his daughter grown, the survival of St. Blaise Regional Medical Center has become his main focus in life. That is, until the results of a routine blood test to give him the nudge he needs to indulge in the one act of rebellion he can no longer deny himself—Anne Silverstein.

Free-spirit Anne has enjoyed a smorgasbord of experiences, but none shaped her life more dramatically than finding a lump in her breast at the ripe old age of twenty-six. She has learned to embrace her passions, indulge in the simple pleasures, and take each day as it comes.

Perma-pressed, Ollie Watkins, stumbles into her office obviously looking for more than a few tips on lowering his cholesterol, and throwing caution to the wind is a no-brainer for the daring dietician. But when Anne and Oliver cook up some home remedies that leave them both ravenous for more, one day at a time becomes both not enough and way too much.

Six Sentences from Daring Miss December

He stopped when her palm pressed against his hammering heart. “But I know you don’t want to think about tomorrow, so I’ll tell you I love you today, Anne Silverstein.” He shrugged and shot her a winsome smile. “I’ll love you tomorrow, but I can wait to tell you again then. You love me too, which works out well. Before you know it, we’ll both have lived the future we always wanted.”

This week, I’ll be sharing six sentences from the November installment of my Hot Nights in St. Blaise series.

Nabbing Mr. November

The doctor becomes the patient when a turkey hunt gone bad lands Luke Langston in St. Blaise’s overrun emergency room with a keister full of birdshot and at the mercy of intern Elena Mendes. Aside from the obvious Dick Cheney jokes, he has to endure the abject humiliation of having a woman he never got round to calling pluck bits of lead from his ass.

Elena can’t wait to pull the last shard of shot from Luke Langston’s magnificent ass. The minute she’s done, she is going to strip off her gloves, march into the waiting room, and shake his assailant’s hand. Hell, she may even tongue kiss the guy. It’s about time Dr. Iceman is taken down a notch. Or twenty.

Elena can’t resist the sparks that fly each time she and Luke butt heads, but she can’t help but wonder: How much heat will it take to melt the ice-man’s heart?

Six sentences from Nabbing Mr. November

“What happens if I open the closet?”

“All hell breaks loose.”

Chuckling, he approached the bed and dropped her onto the crazy quilt. Her startled laugh faded into a hum of approval when he planted one knee on the edge of the mattress and followed her down. “I don’t think I’m going to make it ‘till dinner,” he whispered. “I may need an appetizer to hold me over.”

Six Sentence Sunday and a celebration!

Yesterday, I typed ‘The End’ on the first draft of my December Hot Nights in St. Blaise novella (coming Nov 2013) and I’m so giddy I can’t see straight! Here are the official stats for this series as of today:

12 novellas written over a period of 10 months and 16 days. That’s 12 hot heroes, 12 feisty heroines, and 12 steamy love stories(emphasis on the love and the story, but with enough steam to keep things interesting) in over 284,000 words.

I thought I’d celebrate by sharing a snippet from October AND giving away an advanced read copy (ARC) of book #1 – Jumping Mr. January.

All you have to do is comment on today’s post by midnight, and I’ll pick a winner on Monday 11/26. Sound good?

Here we go!

Here are six sentences from Ogling Miss October:

He needed to grab his tiny tyrant of a daughter and beat a path for home before he did something irrevocably stupid.

Turning back to Susie he mumbled, “I’ve gotta get you into bed.”

Her eyes flared with amusement, and Warren’s soul died the first of a thousand slow, painful deaths as the realization that he’d said something stupid instead sank in.

“Wow.” Susie beamed at him, obviously delighted by his complete and utter mortification. “Most guys would buy a girl a corndog first.”
