Are you an innie or an outie?
I don’t mind telling you, I am an innie. Total introvert. An INTJ, to be exact. So, this weekend was challenging for me.
I had two holiday parties to attend on Saturday. If you know me well, you know I am not an overly social person. Oh, I can turn it on and have a good time, but I have to be revved up for it.
It’s not that I don’t want to do these things. I always have a wonderful time once I’m there. It’s the ramping up and coming down that takes it out of me. If I had my way, this is how I’d celebrate the season:

However, like the Architect I am, I have a plan for how to tackle the season’s greetings. I plan my naps. Block out chunks of time spent in yoga pants. Map tub time into my days. Then, I sprinkle it all with a liberal dose of seasoned salt.

How about you? Are you an introvert or an extrovert? Have you been partying the month away?
I’m an ENFP, just like Robin Williams and Dr. Seuss! But I do enjoy my down time, too. I use it to practice things (dancing, juggling, drumming) that will help me shine in the spotlight when I’m out partying. 😀
Yep to the introvert. In a room full of acquaintances, I prefer not to be seen. I’m happy sitting over the corner watching others be the centre of attention. I’m not a recluse as I really look forward to special gatherings but going out and socializing on a constant basis is something I avoid at all costs. I love the 1:1 and have the most fun then. Or ever 2:1.
I hope you had a great time at your parties.
Oh, I’m such an introvert. What’s bizarre is that as long as I’m at work, I can be as outgoing as necessary – I’ll make phone calls, greet people, initiate conversations. But when it comes to the personal social stuff I’d rather hide in the refrigerated case than talk to a neighbor at the grocery store. I’ll fret for days over phone calls I need to make. I bought a sign last year to keep on my bookshelf: “Let’s Stay Home.” That’s my motto!
Definite introvert. I can deal with my group of friends but even then I generally just people watch and listen.
