I’m just back from a fabulous weekend with some of the Diamond State Romance Authors! We had our annual writing retreat at this weekend and it was incredible. Not only did I add over 8,000 words to my work in progress, but we got to spend the weekend in this fabulous house on Lake Hamilton.
It even had this fabulous infinity pool (Author Megan Mitcham as Vanna White)
But we were there for a purpose, and that was to put words on the page. So I wrote. I wrote in the comfy recliner:
And on one of the nice, shady balconies:
And for a little while, I did the word putting into sentence doing out by the pool:
All in all, I added 8,143 to my work in progress. Whoo hoo!
Then I did this:
When I got home, I got to see the new carpet!
We still have a lot of work to do on the room, but it’s really starting to come together. I even picked up a pretty piece of inspirational artwork for the big wall:
So that’s the update on my works in progress. What’s up with you this week?
You rocked it this weekend, lady! So happy you had a fun and productive retreat! LOVE the inspirational artwork too!
I’ve got a fairly busy week ahead of me, but I’m thrilled about that. Now that we’re entering the fourth week of school there’s finally lots of openings for supply work. I don’t even mind being woken up at 6 by my ringing phone. Yet. Gimme another week before I lose it. lol
Happy Monday/Vacation! 🙂
Sounds like you have a terrific weekend. The room really is taking shape and I love the artwork. For me today will be all about the laundry then I will continue my working, relaxing, tv showing watching (the shows are starting upagain for fall), exercising , and trying to lose weight thing I’ve got going on. On Saturday I will donate blood and then reward myself with pizza that evening. I think October will be busy with the leaves coming and all the fall activities we have lined up.
You have 8,000 times more willpower than I do. That beautiful view would have kept me from writing a single word! Glad you had a productive retreat! I agree — love the artwork! My only excitement this week will probably come from the season premiere of Nashville. Gotta see if Rayna’s gonna break Deacon’s heart again or not.
Oh MY! I have had trips like that! But as long as you eventually get to where you’re going and no one was hurt, the bad memoeirs will fade and you will always have a tale to tell. I can’t wait for the next installment and the GOOD news!! Best wishes
So glad your weekend away was so productive. The room is coming along great, now some of the fun part can begin – decorating! Have you decided on a color for the walls?
Fabulous!!!
