Monday Mayhem – Hanging with Jenny from L.A.

My pal and fellow Unforgettable Heroes author, Jennifer Johnson, is here to play with us today!

****

YAY!! It’s President’s Day! That day that my kid might have had off except we’re on the bajillionth snow day so the little buggers have to make up all the days they’ve been home tracking wet icy tracks across the floor of the house and asking me where their gloves are.

Since Margaret is letting me hang out here today, I wanted to share a few interesting tidbits about presidents.

Calvin Coolidge had a pygmy hippo and two raccoons as pets.

William Taft had a bigger bathtub installed in the White House to accommodate his 300+ lb. body.

John Quincy Adams used to skinny dip in the mornings in the Potomac River during his presidency.

James Garfield was not only ambidextrous, but he could write Latin with one hand and Greek with the other at the same time.

Isn’t that cool?

My name is Jennifer Johnson, and I write contemporary romance. I’m thrilled to be one of the authors of the Unforgettable Heroes anthology along with Margaret Ethridge, my friend and one time hotel roomie.

My book in the anthology is called Holding Out for a Hero. The hero is a street person who catches the interest of Abigail Benson, a down-on-her-luck socialite.

Here is my favorite picture of me:

JJ

This is at my aunt’s country chalet in L.A. That stands for Lower Alabama if you didn’t know.

Do you notice what is not here?

Snow.

Why? Because I am done with the snow days, people. So, on this President’s Day, I’m just going to think about lying in the hammock, ruminating on obscure presidential facts, and NOT about winter temperatures or the *S* word.

Ready for warm weather. Right here.

  1. *tries not to laugh* We have at least another two or three months to go before the *S* word leaves us, and her boyfriend, the *F* word, moves in. That’s flowers, fyi. He’s metrosexual. Don’t judge. Love the sound of your story, Jennifer! Very interesting premise. Congrats on being a part of this awesome collection! 🙂

  2. Greetings from SJ (that’s San Jose 🙂 I am fortunate to live in a place that only gets rain this time of year, although Mother Nature didn’t get the memo and we are actually lower than normal. But I’m definitely not complaining when you get spring-like days in Feb. Congratulations on the anthology. Right now it’s sitting at #9 on the anthology/collection best seller list at Amazon. More than halfway done with the collection and looking forward to reading your contribution.

  3. I like your attitude, Jennifer. Please let me know if the ‘just saying no’ to snow works, because I will definitely give it a try! I’m wondering how crazy it would have to be inside someone’s head to be writing Greek on one side and Latin on the other, but I’m guessing it wouldn’t be pretty. Congrats on the Amazon climb!
