So I was supposed to have Christmas with my family this past weekend, but influenza and winter storm Gemini thwarted those plans. Stupid flu. Stupid weather.
This pic was taken a couple of years ago, but you get the idea. Total mayhem. But instead of partying with the howling hoard, I was home this weekend. With as crazy as this year as been, you’d think I’d be excited to have this weekend to get a lot done.
You would be wrong.
I spent the weekend pouting. And doing nothing. This has been the laziest weekend I’ve had in a long time.
And you know what?
I have no regrets.
How about you? Were you kicked back this weekend, or were you one of the many running around in a last minute frenzy? I’m hoping you were lazy like me. I don’t want to be the only slug in the crowd.
Hope your holidays are shaping up to be all you wish them to be.
Peace.
I’m sorry your family festivities were thwarted by the evil Mother Nature, but this just gives you more time to save up all those hugs and kisses. I had moments of productivity this weekend, and moments of pure and utter laziness, and I don’t regret a single minute of it. Today and tomorrow will be more frenzy-like, but that’s okay too! It’s almost Christmas! 😀 Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season! xoxo
I’d say I was pretty lazy with some chores scattered about. I will be doing my cleaning today but I plan on rewarding myself with a trip to the movies with my son. We want to see Saving Mr. Banks.
I hope you get home to visit your family very soon.
There was mayhem enough herding all these cats into one room for long enough — to the point that I’m Photoshopped into this shot.
Nice try on the Photoshop bit, Seamus. Unfortunately, the genetics ring true.
So sorry you missed out on a family gathering. I know you love to hold those babies. I also all with the flu recover quickly. Stupid sickness!
I hate shopping with inexperienced shoppers so I am usually done early. I avoid the mall this time of year. Thankfully I got all wrapped up in two Nalini Singh books and I loved all the time I was able to read.
Hugs to you!
Sorry you had to miss the family shin dig. But you were not alone in your sluginess.
Here’s how my weekend shaped up.
Friday – Bake, bake, bake, clean, clean, clean, decorate, decorate, decorate, clean, clean, clean. Fall down dead of exhaustion.
Saturday – sleep in, laze about, shower, laze about, PARTY for 3 hours, home to become a slug.
Sunday – Sleep in, slug, slug, slug. Bed.
I hope you’re feeling better. Our holiday was lovely and very nearly stress free. I’m just dealing with the after holiday food coma. blah.
