I am very lucky in love…now. But until I met my hubby, I was what was commonly known as a Tragic Spinster.
It wasn’t that I didn’t have my fair share of chances. I did. And maybe someone else’s share as well, but that’s a different story. You see, I’d always assumed I’d grow up, get married, have babies, then live happily ever after.
Yeah…That didn’t really happen.
So, you see, I hit my thirties without having found my ‘special someone’ and had to adjust my preconceived notions of love. I had a full and happy life without that all-encompassing romance, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t a difficult pill to swallow. Yes, my family and friends loved me. In my own hyper-critical-but-not-too-nutso way I loved me. I just wanted someone taller, hairier and generally more testosterone-y to love me too.
One crazy stroke of luck later, love found me at last. I met my husband because my business card was drawn out of a hat. An endless cycle of seminars forged a common bond between strangers who lived very different lives hundreds of miles apart. The telephone turned into our loveline. I joined a frequent flier program.
Until I stumbled into a seemingly impossible love I hadn’t realized I was too damn lucky in love to let the chance pass me by. Backed by a wealth of love and support from my family and friends, I packed my bags and turned my life upside-down.
My romance may not have unfolded as I originally envisioned, but that doesn’t mean I’m not living my happily ever after. That’s why I consider myself pretty darn lucky in love!
Now it’s your turn to get lucky! *wink*

I absolutely love your love story, Maggie. Every time I hear it I get butterflies in my stomach. 🙂 Sometimes I think being unlucky can lead to good fortune too. I was having the worst time finding a job in my field. I was so frustrated with being second or third choice. After another dead-end interview, I decided to change my own luck and went back to university for a second degree. Now, everything seems to be going my way–in work and play. 😀
I believe that we can all enhance our luck by making wise choices. I think you are proof positive of that!
If I had waited for a random stroke of luck to change my life it would never have happened. I think we have to go out and do everything we want while we can. Luck needs all the help it can get.

Yes, sometimes Lady Luck needs a little help. Thanks for hopping by!
Okay. So like you, I was unlucky in love. I knew that I was ready for a forever guy, but I kept getting for the moment guys which eventually bored me. I’m not going to go into all the details. But I gave myself one last chance to find someone. One last phone call to see if I could make a connection. I’ve been with my true love for 17 years.

That’s fabulous, Kim. Sometimes we just need to hold out a little bit longer for love to find us. 🙂 Thanks for your comment!
I can’t think of any that i’ve had yet.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I’ve been happily married for 25 years (this coming September). I’d call that very lucky in love! It was a lucky coincidence that we met…He calls it divine intervention.

That’s very lucky indeed! And a bit of divine intervention too. Thanks, Catherine!
My stroke of luck was meeting my research collaborator at a convention two years ago. She’s helped me so much in rounding out the backstory to my family saga.
That’s awesome, Stevie!
Love your love story!! Sadly I haven’t been lucky in love yet!
Thanks for the great giveaway and for joining the hop!!!!

Not lucky yet. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

What a great giveaway hop! I have yet to be lucky in love but I’m working on it. My favorite love book is “Outlander” by Diana Gabaldon. Jamie Fraser is amazing and beautiful. I enjoy St. Patty’s Day and this year I’m spending it with my best friend. We’re going to two Irish Pubs and also some dance clubs. I am also wearing green and am not a fan of getting pinched. I’m not Irish either, but many people think I am because my hair is red, my eyes green and my name is Meghan, but I’m not at all. I won’t be telling anybody that, however… let them believe I’m Irish.
Thanks for the giveaway!

Hi there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing many months of hard work due to no back up. Do you have any methods to stop hackers?
